Websites for Canadian clinics, salons and trades

From Vancouver to Halifax, on a call schedule that overlaps your morning. Built with Canadian rules in mind: PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, CASL, and Interac where it matters.

The practical bits

Working with a remote studio from Canada

Time zone
Nine to thirteen hours ahead of Canada. Your morning is our evening, and we keep those hours for calls.
Payments
  • Card payments through Stripe or Square
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Deposits at booking through the booking tool. Interac e-Transfer is not something we can take, so we do not pretend otherwise.
Domain
.ca, registered in your name. If you already own a .com we point it at the same site.
Invoicing
Prices on the site are in US dollars. If you prefer a CAD invoice at the exchange rate on the day, ask.
Built to Canadian rules

What changes for a Canadian business

  • PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25

A privacy policy that says what you collect and why, consent on forms, and, for Quebec businesses, the Law 25 requirements on cookies and a named privacy officer. Built into the site, not bolted on.

  • French for Quebec (Law 96)

Quebec businesses need French first. We build bilingual sites where every page exists in both languages with correct hreflang tags. You write or approve the French; we do not machine-translate a page about your business.

  • CASL for email and SMS

Appointment reminders are transactional and fine. Marketing needs express consent, so forms get a separate, unticked consent box with a record of when it was ticked.

  • Accessibility (AODA in Ontario)

Ontario's AODA points at WCAG 2.0 AA; we build to 2.2 AA everywhere, so the requirement is met by default.

Questions

What Canadian businesses ask first

Can you build a bilingual site for Quebec?

Yes. Businesses in Quebec need French first under Law 96, and Law 25 adds privacy requirements on forms and cookies. We build the site so every page exists in both languages with the right hreflang tags, and your team edits both from the same place. You supply or approve the French copy; we do not machine-translate a page about your business.

Which booking tools do Canadian clinics and salons use?

Jane App is Canadian and the default for allied-health clinics. Salons tend to be on Fresha, Vagaro or Booksy; studios on Mindbody or Momence; trades on Jobber, which is also Canadian. All of them embed cleanly. If you already use one, you keep it.

What about email and SMS reminders under CASL?

Appointment reminders to existing clients are transactional and fine. Marketing emails need express consent, so we set the forms up with a separate, unticked consent box and a record of when it was ticked. That is what CASL asks for.

Do you invoice in Canadian dollars?

Prices on the site are in US dollars. If you prefer a CAD invoice at the exchange rate on the day, ask and we will issue one. Payment is by card or bank transfer; Interac e-Transfer is not available to us, so we do not pretend otherwise.
