What changes for a South African business

  • POPIA

The Protection of Personal Information Act requires a privacy notice, an information officer, consent for marketing, and minimal forms. The Information Regulator enforces it and health data carries extra conditions.

  • HPCSA rules for health practices

Registered practitioners follow the HPCSA ethical rules on advertising, which prohibit touting and restrict claims and testimonials. Clinic and dental sites are built accordingly and show HPCSA registration.

  • .co.za domains

No residency requirement; registered in your name through a ZA registrar.

  • Consumer Protection Act

Prices shown must be clear and inclusive of VAT for consumers. Deposit and cancellation terms stated next to the booking button.

Questions

What South African businesses ask first

Which payment methods do South African customers expect?

Cards through PayFast, Yoco or Peach, SnapScan or Zapper for QR payments, and instant EFT through Ozow. Card-only checkout loses bookings, so deposits run through a gateway that offers all three.

What do health practices need on the site?

HPCSA registration displayed, advertising within the HPCSA ethical rules, and POPIA-compliant forms with an information officer named. We build clinic and dental sites to those rules.

Do prices need to include VAT?

For consumers, yes, under the Consumer Protection Act. Price lists show VAT-inclusive figures and the booking tool is configured the same way.

How do we pay you?

Prices are in US dollars. Half to start, half at launch, by card or bank transfer. A ZAR invoice at the day's rate is available if you ask.
