Best means books

The best clinic website is not the prettiest. It is the one that turns the most people in pain, searching on their phones, into booked appointments with the right practitioner. The clinic sites we have built and audited that measurably do this share nine traits, and none of them is a visual style.

1. One-tap booking, with the practitioner chosen

A Book button in the header on every page, visible on a phone without scrolling, going to live availability. On service pages the service is pre-selected; on practitioner profiles the practitioner is. The patient never faces a widget listing twelve services and six people with no guidance.

2. Under two seconds on a phone

Every one passes Core Web Vitals on mobile. The patient with a bad back on mobile data sees the page and the Book button before they think about it.

3. A page per condition, in the patient's words

Not "musculoskeletal services". Sciatica. Tennis elbow. Plantar fasciitis. Frozen shoulder. Each page: what it is, how the clinic assesses and treats it, who does it, what the first visit involves, what it costs, FAQs, Book. These pages rank for "[condition] [town]" and they reassure the person who lands on them that this clinic treats their thing.

4. A page per service, too

Physiotherapy, sports massage, acupuncture, Pilates, shockwave, podiatry. Each with duration, price, who provides it, what to expect, and a Book button pre-selecting it.

5. Practitioner profiles patients actually read

Photo in the clinic, name, title, registration number with the regulator, qualifications, what they treat and who they are good with, a sentence of personality, and a Book-with button. Consistent photography across the team. Patients choose a person, not a clinic.

6. First visit explained

What happens, how long, what to wear, whether to bring scans or a referral, the price, parking. On a dedicated page and summarised on every service page. Removes the anxiety that stops first bookings.

7. Prices visible

Initial assessment, follow-up, each service, packages if any, insurance and rebate information. Real numbers in fields the clinic updates. "Contact us for prices" is absent from every one of these sites.

8. Proof placed where decisions happen

Reviews near the Book button on service and condition pages, with space reserved so they do not shift the layout. Real photos of the treatment rooms and reception. Registration and professional body links. Where regulation restricts testimonials (Australia), qualifications and registration do the work instead.

9. Measured

Booking clicks, calls and forms tracked by page and source, and completed bookings by source from the practice system. The clinic knows the sciatica page produced nine bookings last month. These sites are the ones their owners can see working.

What they do not share

  • A look. Clinical, warm, minimal, bold: all appear.
  • A platform. Good WordPress themes and framework builds both qualify. Page-builder sites rarely, because of trait 2.
  • Large budgets. Most are mid four figures.
  • Many pages. Twelve to twenty is typical, most of them condition and service pages from templates.

Check yours

On your phone, mobile data, private window:

  1. Taps to a live slot with a practitioner chosen: one or two?
  2. Load time: under two seconds?
  3. Search your top condition plus your town: page one, with a condition page?
  4. Find the initial assessment price: under thirty seconds?
  5. Find a practitioner's registration number.
  6. Find what the first visit involves.
  7. Ask your practice manager how many bookings the site produced last month.

Seven passes is one of the best. Most clinic sites we review pass two or three.

Where this sits

These nine traits are the specification for the clinic websites we build and the checklist a diagnosis runs an existing site against. The design comes after, chosen to suit the clinic, on a structure that is already doing the work.
