Why instructors get pages

People come back to a class because of who teaches it. A first-timer picks a class partly on whether the instructor seems like someone who will be kind to a beginner. Instructors have their own Instagram followings that the studio should be converting. And "[instructor name] yoga [town]" is a real search when someone has heard of them. An instructor page does all of that; a team page with headshots and first names does none of it.

The record

Each instructor is a record with fields:

| Field | Purpose | |---|---| | Name | As members know them | | Teaches | Relationship to class-type records | | Approach | Two sentences on how they teach | | Beginners | One line on how they treat first-timers | | Bio | 80 to 150 words in their voice | | Photo | From a consistent set, in the studio | | Instagram | Handle, linked | | Schedule | Their regular slots, or a link to the timetable filtered to them | | Platform ID | The instructor identifier for the timetable filter | | Qualifications | Certifications, plainly | | Also | Workshops, retreats, private sessions if offered |

The template renders: photo, name, what they teach with links to class-type pages, the approach and beginner line, the bio, their upcoming classes (live from the platform's API, or a "See [name]'s classes" button to the filtered timetable), Instagram, qualifications, and the intro offer: "Take your first class with [name]".

The photo set

Every instructor in the studio, same light, same framing, on the same morning if possible. Consistency is what makes the team page look like one studio. Add one action shot per instructor mid-class if you have them; those go on the profile too.

Writing the bio

A five-minute conversation: why they teach, what they love about this style, what they want a nervous beginner to know, one thing outside the studio. Transcribe, cut to 120 words, first person, warm. The "beginners" line is the most important sentence on the page: "I always check in with anyone new before we start and give you an easier version of anything that feels too much."

Linking to their classes

The timetable widget's URL parameters filter by instructor. The profile's "See [name]'s classes" button opens the timetable filtered to them. Where the platform's API allows, show their next three classes directly on the profile with Book buttons. Either way, a follower who lands on the profile can book a class with that instructor in two taps.

Instagram in both directions

The profile links to the instructor's Instagram. More useful: the instructor's Instagram bio links to their profile on the studio's site ("Class times and booking: [link]", with UTM parameters for the instructor). Their stories about a class carry a link sticker to the filtered timetable. The studio's site becomes the booking layer for every instructor's following.

The team page

All instructors as cards: photo, name, what they teach in a few words, a "See classes" button. Grouped by discipline if the studio is multi-style. Founders and owners who teach appear here too, not on a separate About page.

Adding and removing

New instructor: the manager creates the record, uploads the photo, sets what they teach, pastes their platform ID, adds the bio from the five-minute call. Their profile, their card and their appearance on class-type pages exist. Twenty minutes.

Cover or guest instructors: a lighter record with photo, name and what they cover, marked as guest.

Leaver: unpublish the record; everything referencing them disappears. Their classes on the timetable are already reassigned in the platform.

Structured data

Each instructor as a Person with jobTitle and worksFor the studio, with knowsAbout for their styles, nested in the studio's business markup. From the fields, at no cost.

Tracking

The intro button on each profile fires with the instructor's name as a parameter; the instructor's Instagram UTM tags identify their traffic. Monthly: intros sold and classes booked by instructor profile. Instructors like to see it, and it tells the studio whose following converts.

Where this sits

Instructor records with filtered timetable links, consistent photos and the intro offer are part of every studio website we build. The instructor is why people come back; the profile is how strangers pick who to try first, and how an instructor's following becomes the studio's members.
