Should We Publish Implant and Veneer Prices?

The direct answer for cosmetic dentists and implant clinics: publish a from-price, a monthly finance figure and the consultation cost, on every treatment page.

The short answer

Yes. Publish a from-price for each treatment, a monthly finance figure with whatever wording your finance partner and regulator require, and what the consultation costs or whether it is free.

The people searching for implants and veneers are comparing clinics. A clinic with no prices gets skipped for one that has them. That is the entire argument, and it holds in every market we have built in.

Why the usual objections do not survive contact

Every case is different. True, and that is what a from-price with a note is for. Say from this figure, say what moves it, say that the assessment produces a fixed written plan. Patients understand ranges. They do not understand silence.

We will be undercut. The clinic that undercuts you is already visible and already being compared with you. Withholding your number does not hide it, it removes you from the comparison. Price is also not what wins cosmetic work. Believable results, a named clinician with training you can see, and an honest account of what happens win it.

It attracts price shoppers. It does the opposite. A stated price is a filter. The person for whom it is impossible never books a consultation, which is a chair hour you get back. The person who books has already accepted the number.

We would rather talk to them first. They would rather not. Requiring a phone call to learn a price is the most common reason a cosmetic enquiry never starts.

What to publish, per treatment

  • A from-price, honest, that a real patient sometimes pays
  • One line saying what moves it: units, grafting, laboratory choice, scans
  • What is included, in three or four bullets
  • A monthly finance figure where you offer finance
  • The consultation cost, or free, stated per treatment
  • For full-arch work, a stated range rather than a single from-price

Put it on the treatment page itself, under what happens and above the gallery. A separate fees page is useful as a summary, but a patient reading about implants should not have to go looking.

The finance line needs care

Quoting a monthly figure is advertising credit, and credit advertising is regulated. In the UK the Financial Conduct Authority regime applies, and a promotion quoting monthly costs generally has to carry a representative example including a representative APR. In the United States the Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z attach disclosures to advertised credit terms. Australia has its national consumer credit framework and Canada has provincial cost of credit disclosure rules.

Ask your finance provider for their current approved wording, show it beside the figure rather than behind a toggle, and keep it in an editable field so it can be updated when the product changes. This is orientation; take advice on your own arrangement.

Do not put prices behind a form

A price gate costs you the enquiry and gains you an email address from someone who is now annoyed. If the number genuinely cannot be given without an examination, say that in one sentence and give the assessment fee instead.

Keep them current or do not publish them

An out of date price is worse than no price, because the patient arrives with a figure you have to correct. Prices belong in editable fields that feed every place they appear, one person owns them, and they are reviewed when your laboratory or fee guide changes. A PDF fee list is not a solution: search engines cannot use it, phones display it badly, and it is always behind.

What patients read alongside the number

The price only works next to the things that justify it. The clinician's registration and implant training. How many visits and over what period. What is included, and what is not. What happens if something fails, and what the guarantee or warranty actually covers. A clinic that answers those and states its price beats a cheaper clinic that answers none of them, most of the time.

Where this sits

From-prices on every treatment page, a single finance component with the correct representative wording and consultation pricing set per treatment are part of a cosmetic dentistry and implant clinic website as we build it, and the same approach runs through our other dental practice websites. Our own packages are on pricing. Publish the number, explain what moves it, and the consultations that follow are already qualified.
