A wash is not a big website, but it has one expensive decision

There are not many pages to write for a car wash: a menu, the plans, the labour-bound work, fleet, and where you are and when you open. The expensive part is one decision buried in that — does the site sell the monthly plan, or only describe it? That is what a quote should turn on. Page count is not.

Essentials, $500, is where most washes land

For one site, Essentials does the job: eight pages, two rounds of changes, live in about two weeks. Eight is plenty, because the structure is short:

  • A first screen carrying the wash menu and its prices
  • The plans, laid out tier against tier
  • Hand wash and valet, with what each includes
  • Fleet, with account terms and an enquiry
  • Gift cards
  • Directions and opening hours
  • Contact

The recommendation stops there rather than reaching for a bigger build because a wash's real cost is not the build. It is the menu, which keeps changing. Essentials plus a care plan, not twenty pages nobody edits.

Complete, $1,500, when the diary is the business

Complete runs to twenty pages, four rounds and roughly four weeks, and it is the tier where booking is wired into your calendar rather than landing as an enquiry. The extra scope goes to identifiable places: more than one site, each with its own hours and menu; a valet diary taking deposits and reminders; a page per service instead of one list; and price tables you edit the morning you change them.

Booking: in the price, or quoted

With a new Complete site the booking setup is included: the system chosen around how the wash runs, joined to your Google or Outlook calendar, deposits through Stripe, reminders before the slot, and confirmation emails tested so they land in an inbox. Essentials ships with a booking form instead. Adding real booking to a site you already own is quoted inside a day; the work is about a week.

If a site already exists

Do not buy a rebuild before you know you need one. A $299 Diagnosis gets you a report in three days: what is wrong in plain words, what each item costs to put right, and a straight answer on repair versus replace. Diagnosis and fix is $799, about two weeks. Anything beyond that is quoted after the report.

The five things that move a wash quote

  • Whether plans are sold or only shown. Three tiers described is writing. Three tiers bought online, with a plate or tag linked at signup, is a payment flow — the biggest line on most wash quotes.
  • How much of the trade needs a diary. A tunnel needs a legible menu. Hand wash and valet need real slots at per-service durations, which is a different job.
  • How many sites. Each wants its own hours, menu and local page, and the standard mistake is running one set of words across all of them.
  • Whether fleet is a page or an arrangement. A fleet page with terms and an enquiry form is cheap. Fleet accounts with logins or per-vehicle history are not.
  • Who changes the prices. Tables you edit yourself cost a little more at the start and less every year after.

Design complexity is not on that list. A quote that prices the artwork heavily and the plan flow lightly is built from the wrong end.

The monthly picture after launch

  • The domain, registered to you and renewed each year
  • Hosting
  • Your booking or wash-platform subscription, paid direct to Square Appointments, Booksy, Acuity, Washify or DRB, alongside whatever your payment provider takes
  • A care plan, if keeping the menu current is going to be somebody's job: Basic at $99/mo, Growth at $249/mo with four hours of changes included, Scale at $499/mo

Where this sits

Our car wash websites are built to that shape at a fixed price. To pick the software first, read car wash booking systems and membership tools. If the site you have is the problem, start with why your car wash website gets no bookings.
