Test the new-patient flow, not the diary
Jane, Cliniko, ChiroTouch, Zanda, Power Diary and Nookal all run a chiropractic diary competently. Every one of them offers online booking with a separate new-patient route, so the first visit can be booked at the right length with the intake form sent ahead.
That shared capability is why a feature comparison is close to useless here. What differs is how the new-patient flow behaves when a real person uses it on a phone at nine in the evening, which is when most first visits get booked.
Can a first visit be booked at a different length?
Start here. A new patient needs a longer slot than a returning one, and if the system cannot hold two durations for what looks like the same appointment type, either your first visits run over or your follow-ups waste the room.
Does the intake form actually arrive before the visit?
Ask when it sends, what it looks like on a phone, and what happens if it is not completed. A form that sends with the confirmation and chases once is doing its job. A form that lives behind a portal login most patients will never create is not, and you will be handing over a clipboard anyway.
Can it hold a course of care rather than single visits?
This is the question specific to chiropractic. A care plan is a series, often with review points partway through. Check whether the system can book a block, track where a patient is in it, and flag the review — or whether you will be rebooking one visit at a time and keeping the plan in your head.
Can a patient book a named practitioner?
Where a clinic has more than one, patients want a person. Check that booking can filter to one practitioner, that each can carry their own appointment types and durations, and that a direct link exists that books them specifically — because that link is what a practitioner profile page needs.
What does it do with patient data?
Health data carries obligations that differ by country. Ask where records are stored, what the data agreement covers for the country you practise in, and what the export looks like if you leave. A clinic that cannot leave a system ends up shaping its site around that system's limits.
Does it send recall, and does it sound like you?
A patient who finished a course last spring is a booking this spring. Most of these platforms can send that. Check what the message looks like when it lands, whether it carries your clinic's name, and whether it rebooks in one tap.
What the embed does to the page
Test it on a phone, on mobile data, in a private window. Some embeds pull a heavy script and shift the layout as it arrives. Watch whether the page jumps, and load the widget only on the booking page — your first-visit page and your condition pages are what earn the booking, and a site-wide script slows exactly those.
Where this sits
Every chiropractic clinic website we build embeds whichever of these you already run, at a fixed price. For the build cost, see what a chiropractic website costs.
