Count the pages before you ask for a price
A sleep clinic rarely lands on the smallest package, and the reason is arithmetic rather than taste. Before design comes up, list what the site has to carry: a walkthrough of what a study involves, a page for each condition you take on, something on CPAP and the alternatives, fees, referral requirements, a profile per specialist, and booking that gets questionnaires out ahead of the appointment.
That passes eight pages before the home page and the contact page are counted, which is why this vertical prices differently from a clinic selling one service at one price.
Essentials, $500, and where it runs out
Essentials is the two-week build: up to eight pages, an enquiry or booking form, two rounds of changes, and the setup that lets Google read it properly.
A sleep clinic can spend all eight on the study explanation and the fees, leaving nowhere for insomnia, snoring or equipment. We will build it at that budget — but you will want the other twelve pages within months, and pages added later cost more than pages included at the start.
Complete, $1,500, is the recommendation
Complete runs about four weeks: up to twenty pages, four rounds of changes, and booking wired into the calendar you already keep rather than dropped into an inbox. The extra room goes to predictable places.
- Both study routes set out properly, home and in-clinic, instead of one summary
- A page for each condition you genuinely treat
- Equipment: the options, what fitting involves, what it costs to keep running
- Fees split into consultation, study and equipment rather than one figure
- Referral requirements written out route by route
- One profile per specialist, each carrying registration
- Staff and price lists you can edit yourself
Booking: inside the price here, quoted there
On a new Complete build the booking setup is part of the fee — the system picked for how your clinic runs, joined to Google or Outlook, deposits through Stripe, reminders automated, and confirmation emails tested so they land in an inbox rather than a spam folder. Adding booking to a site that already exists is its own job: quoted within a day, usually a week of work. The clinic software itself stays a subscription in your name, paid to the vendor.
When it becomes a Custom quote
Custom is priced after a call — more than one site or lab, overnight capacity that has to be modelled rather than booked as an ordinary slot, or software you depend on that needs connecting rather than replacing.
If there is already a site
Do not price a rebuild before you know one is warranted. A diagnosis is $299, reported inside three days: what is broken in plain terms, what each repair costs, and a straight answer on fixing versus starting again. Diagnosis with the work done is $799, about two weeks. A rebuild is quoted after that report, never ahead of it.
What it costs once it is live
- The domain, renewed yearly, registered to you
- Your clinic software subscription, billed to you directly
- Hosting
- A care plan, if updates, backups and small changes should be someone's job: Basic $99/mo, Growth $249/mo with four hours of changes, Scale $499/mo
Five things that move the number
- Home studies as well as in-clinic ones. Two routes means two explanations, two appointment types, and instructions for equipment going out and coming back.
- How many conditions get a page of their own. Apnoea, insomnia, snoring, narcolepsy and restless legs are five separate searches, not one bullet list.
- Whether you supply and fit equipment. Publishing the fitting process and the ongoing costs is a page plus a table of its own.
- How many referral routes you accept. Self-referred, GP-referred and insurer-funded each carry different requirements to state and different details for booking to collect.
- How many specialists need a profile. Every one is a page with qualifications and registration on it.
None of that is a design decision. A quote that scales on visual complexity is pricing the wrong thing.
Where this sits
Our sleep clinic websites are built to that structure at a fixed price. To audit the site you have, run the six phone tests or read why a sleep clinic site gets no bookings.
